A riot broke out in Harrisonburg last night when a back-to-school party got out of control.
The scuffle broke out when police tried to break up a street party attended by about two thousand people.
Most were students at James Madison University.
Police in riot gear used pepper spray and gas canisters to disperse the crowd - which was throwing rocks and bottles at officers.
Twenty people were arrested.
One police officer recieved minor injuries.

A single car accident claimed the life of a Grayson County man this evening.
Police say 44-year-old Tony K. Snow, of Independence, was traveling on Route 21 in the county when he veered off the side of the road and flipped his pick-up truck.
Rescue workers used the jaws of life to free Snow from the wreckage.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
