Virginia's General Assembly has considered license plates honoring everything from the Sons of Confederate Veterans to pig memorabilia.
But now, a Richmond gay and lesbian group wants a state tag with the word "pride" and a rainbow rectangle.

The Department of Transportation wants to build a telecommunications tower near Exit 109 of Interstate 81.
It plans to lease space on the tower to telecommunication companies.
And it says it doesn't need the county's approval to do it.
But Montgomery County's Board of Supervisors is threatening legal action.
Supervisors say V-DOT should be subject to the same procedures as anyone who puts up a cell-phone tower.
That includes public hearings before the planning commission and supervisors.

That work is complete, but the city has held off on re-opening the road until speed humps and other traffic control measures can been installed.

Crawford was signed by the Panthers as a rookie free agent. He was not drafted and, after injuries limited him to a third of the games his senior season at UVa, he had decided to retire from football at this time last year.

Also, the Panthers have re-signed former Hokie linebacker Michael Hawkes.
He will likely spend this season on the Carolina Practice squad.
