A missing hiker who got lost on the Appalachian Trail walked 30 miles to the airport to hop a plane to Georgia.

His parents and search parties from all over the area were scouting the woods, but Sharov's goal was to get back to the Army on time.

Marilyn Curtis distinguished herself in public life and private business.
The former Roanoke City School Board member and longtime funeral home director died this morning at the age of 74.

Marilyn Curtis was active in the Roanoke PTA before she joined the School Board in 1988. She served nine years.
Curtis was also well- known as a principal in the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. She was the first female President of the Virginia Morticians Association, and held leadership positions in a long list of business, civic and community groups.

One Restaurant chain is recalling some of its kids meal toys-

Fazoli's Italian restaurant is voluntarily recalling 310-thousand toys- included with Fazoli's Kids meals.
The Pasta Pals toys are plastic, barrel shaped containers with small plastic tomato and ravioli figures inside.
The bottom of the container can fit over a child's nose and mouth- which could pose a suffocation hazard to children under three.
Consumers should immediately take the container away from young children- and then throw it out- or consumers can return the toy to the restaurant for a free Italian ice.

The Hillcats still clinched the second half Northern Division crown because Wilmington lost last night 8 to 3 to Frederick.

From 1995 through 1997 Germane wracked up over 21 hundred receiving yards and 19 touchdown catches. Of course off the field he and little brother are quite similar.
