A small plane has crashed in the city of Lexington.
Witnesses say the plane went down at about 5:30, close to the center of the city.
One caller said the single engine plane circled around the city, lost part of a wing, and then went down.
Other callers say parts of the plane landed in people's yards, and one piece hit a fraternity house.
We have no idea yet whether anyone has been hurt.
And we don't know where the plane was coming from.
Emergency crews are on the scene and have blocked off the area.

Talk about a long way around to catch a plane....
Former Christiansburg Attorney Keith Neely found it can take two MONTHS to get from here to Morgantown, West Virginia... by government aircraft.
(------------)

[* * * Keith on ENG * * *]
[SUPER=03-Roanoke/1993]

Neely has served more than half his 10-year sentence for drug trafficking and money laundering, but he's still fighting the government- -hoping to win a new trial.
Neely will be back in federal court two weeks from today.
Last year when federal Marshals returned him to the federal pen in Morgantown, they took him first to the Regional Jail in Lexington where they held him a week, then took him to Lewisburg where he caught the airlift to Oklahoma City. They kept him there for six weeks before sending him to Lewisburg, PENNSYLVANIA where he spent a week in maximum security, before they drove him to Morgantown.
[SUPER=03-Radford]

The attorney assisting Neely with the case says the entire trip took more than two months, and Neely had pay his own way

In the end the trip cost him 16-hundred dollars.
The judge signed an order last week directing the Marshal Service to bring Neely from Morgantown "by the most direct and expeditious manner" for the hearing on September 13th.
U-S Marshal Larry Maddox says this time he hopes they'll transport Neely by car. Before Neely leaves Morgantown, though, he'll have to post 3-thousand dollars for the trip.
