Hundreds paid their final respects this afternoon to 31 year old James Curtis Minor.
According to Roanoke police, officers began pursuing Minor after they saw him speeding and ignoring stoplights.
Minor later collided with a car at the intersection of 11-th and Hanover streets.
While some are blaming police for the accident... others hope violence isn't the outcome.

Judge Beverly Fitzpatrick Senior passed away early this morning at the age of 80.
Fitzpatrick was the youngest judge appointed to a Virginia court when he was given the position in the 1950's.
By the time he retired in 1980, he was the chief judge of the 23rd judical district.
After his retirement, Fitzpatrick led the efforts to save the Old Jefferson High School by turning it into the Jefferson center.

He was the President of the center's foundation from 1989 until the time of his death.
Fitzpatrick was also one of the first judical leaders in Virginia to recognize alcoholism as a disease.
Beginning in 1967, he formed what he called an honor court. It gave alcoholics a choice of serving 10 days in jail or 10 hours in his court where they were taught about the disease.
Services for Judge Beverly Fitzpatrick Senior will be 11 Monday Morning at the Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke.

So far, there have not been any studies conducted on the site to show there is contamination.
Darlene Burcham said she made that statement based on information from environmentalists about similar sites.
Burcham's statement caught the attention of officials with the Department of Environmental Quality.
They plan to be at the site on Monday to inspect it.
