An undercover drug investigation involving two Roanoke County high school could result in 54 criminal charges against students and adults. The sting, dubbed "Operation Babyface," began in late 19-99 and focused on Northside High School. But it recently extended to William Byrd High School's summer school program.

The sting centered on a Roanoke County police officer who posed as a 17-year-old high school junior for ten months.

The undercover officer was reportedly able to buy L-S-D, ecstasy, marijuana, and the prescription painkiller "OxyContin" (oxy-con-tin). Police say they plan to charge eight current and former students. They say additional charges against 5 other people will be sought after lab tests are completed.
Authorities will also submit the names of more than 50 students for substance abuse counseling.

Safety inspections have been ordered for all parking garages built in Virginia Beach before 1996.

Virginia Beach officials ordered the inspections following the deaths of four nurses last Sunday.
They died when their car plunged off the top deck of an Oceanfront parking garage.
The city plans to hire a structural engineer to help.
Beyond that, city officials say they aren't sure what they will check for, or what they can legally force private parking-garage owners to do.

The spokesman says the idea that any high-level Bush officials were involved is ridiculous. And the source says the investigation is looking to see if any higher-ups were involved.

Now a Beverly Hills collector who's friends with a Virginia Military Institute alumnus is donating the historic teletype to VMI's museum.

On Tech's first possession Jarrett Ferguson capped a drive when he bulled over from the two to make it 7 to nothing in the first quarter.
Tech takes pride in its special teams and watch Andre Davis field this punt break a tackle and cut to the outside on his way to a 71 yard punt return for a score to give the Hokies a 14 to nothing lead still in the first quarter.
But the Eagles answered the challenge with a score in the first quarter then with 13 minutes left in the second Tim Hasselback hits Jamal Burke on the 2 yard T-D pass and the game was tied at 14 to 14.
Suggs scored the first of his 2 touchdowns in the second quarter taking it to the zone on this 24 yard run giving the Hokies a 21 to 14 lead.
Vick added 2 more touchdowns before the half this 12 yard run gave the Hokies a 35 to 20 lead at the half.
Tech returned to the field in the third and added to its lead. This time Suggs gets the call and he scores on this 10 yard run and the Hokies were cruising 42 to 20.
Boston College added 2 fourth quarter T-D's but Vick would put the game away on this play dodging tackles and running in the open field for an 82 yard touchdown run and the Hokies get the conference win 48 to 34 over Boston College.))
