A new airline has landed in the Valley.
Potomac Air is setting up shop at the Roanoke Regional Airport.
Operations will be based in an existing hangar. Maintenance, dispatch and crew scheduling will be handled here.

A man who held authorities at bay for eleven hours in Radford yesterday is behind bars tonight.

Christopher Demoranville was released from the hospital this afternoon after being treated for a self-inflicted wound.
Today he is in the same jail as a friend he helped put away with his testimony.
DeMoranville and Derrick Chapman plotted a Montgomery County Circuit Court judge last year.
DeMoranville told police about it and got three years probation.
Chapman was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Police say this time, DeMoranville could face prison time for the standoff.

More federal money is likely to be on the way soon ... to pay for new safety technology along Interstate 81 in Virginia.
The House has passed the final version of a bill that provides three million dollars. Senate approval and President Clinton's signature are expected.
The money would help pay for instruments along 81 that would determine road hazards such as bad weather or congestion and signs to warn drivers.

The six-two 200 pound tailback from Cardinal O'Hara high school in Chester, Pennsylvania took an unofficial visit to Blacksburg to take in Homecoming 2000. Speaking of lists - former Hokie all-american Jim Druckenmiller fell off the lists of every NFL team this summer when he was cut by the Dolphins. The 49ers first round pick in 1997 says he can't wait for the new XFL draft at the end of the month.
