At least five Americans sailors are dead and dozens of others injured in an explosion off the U-S-S Cole in Yemen.
While the U-S is not publically calling this a terrorist act -- President Clinton has vowed to find those responsible.
A team of F-B-I Agents is now headed to Yemen to investigate.
According to Naval officials, a small boat alongside the ship exploded.
The blast tore a 20 by 40 foot hole in the port side of the ship.

The Pentagon released these still photographs of the gaping hole the
explosion inflicted upon the USS Cole, a 20 by 40 foot gash in the port
side of the vessel.
(SUPER: 1998, NORFOLK, VA)
The Cole, shown here at its home base of Norfolk, Virginia, two years
ago, was being refueled at the time. The President expressed horror at
the incident and vowed to act.
(LOCATOR: THE WHITE HOUSE)
(SOT, CLINTON)
If, as it now appears, this was an act of terrorism it was a despicable
and cowardly act. We will find out who was responsible and hold them
accountable.
US military personnel who witnessed the blast in Aden, Yemen, say a
small boat was right next to the Cole moments before the tremendous
explosion rocked the ship. Defense Secretary William Cohen would not
confirm reports that witnesses saw two men on the small boat standing at
attention just before it blew up. There was also no explanation of how a
boat loaded with high explosives could get so close to a U.S. Naval
vessel. Cohen says the U.S.will continue to protect its interests.
(SOT/William Cohen, Secretary of Defense)
The President says he wont allow the attack to derail the peace talks
between Israelis and Palestinians.
