Their distrust and fear is about the only thing they share with Israelis.
Israeli Jews, too, took to the streets of Jerusalem, protesting a peace summit so soon after the mob murder of Israeli soldiers. The would-be peacemakers, had dire warnings if the leaders of both sides fail to agree to halt the violence.

'We understand the rights of the Palestinian people but they all have to learn to live together side by side.'
But they're NOT expected to do that, in THIS meeting - officials have done their best to downplay all expectations.
As if the odds stacked against this summit were not enough...the militant Hezbollah in Lebanon...announced the kidnapping of a fourth Israeli soldier, in sympathy with the Palestinian cause. Israel so far failed to confirm or deny.
Western officials fear Israel's forces may retaliate...sending the diplomats packing...and the people...back to the frontline.
