Police say the teen walked into an elementary school classroom in Glendale, Arizona- carrying a 9-millimeter handgun.

An Amherst County teen who killed his mother and shot his father pleaded guilty to all the charges today.

15-year old Daniel Maddox avoided a jury trial by admitting to the August 9th attack.
Maddox shot and killed his mother in their home off Route 60, then waited in ambush for his father to come home.


39-year old John Maddox was shot in the hand and shoulder but survived.
Police never determined a motive for the shootings.. Maddox could receive a life term in prison when he's sentenced in January.

Investigators have now identified the man who died last night in a Floyd County house fire. Firefighters found 42-year-old Albert Smith deceased in bed on Route 6-15. They say he probably fell asleep with a cigarette, and that may have caused the fire.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that a Roanoke couple says they found a mouse inside a box of K-F-C chicken- Tonight the couple says they believe the health department mislead them on how the mouse would be tested.

Roanoke County Supervisors have approved an agreement with Wal-Mart that should address some residents' concerns over a new store in Bonsack.

The store is planned for a site near the intersection of route 460 and alternate route 220.
Though residents in the area have raised concerns, the property has been zoned for commercial development for 30 years.
Today, supervisors approved a performance agreement that will cost the county about 600 thousand dollars over three years .. but it will include storm water management, traffic control, and buffering between the store and nearby subdivisions.
