The N-double-A-C-P held a news conference in Richmond today saying this is a deliberate way to suppress the black vote. They say thousands of newly registered voters have not received their voter I-D cards.
Election officials say they were surprised with the volume of new registrations and scrambled to mail out as many voter cards as possible. But even if you forget your I-D or don't have one -- you can still vote.

(( A high tech custom made ankle brace helped Michael Vick get back on the field against Miami, but this week he's getting some additional help from NIKE in order to play against Central Florida. The athletic shoe giant that has Tech under contract, is making a one of a kind shoe fit precisely to Vick's right foot and his brace. The shoe is being designed and manufactured in Oregon at NIKE headquarters and it should be ready by Saturday night.

Tech's head athletic trainer Mike Goforth hopes that Nike will take a hard look in the future at developing shoes that protect as well as enhance performance, so that injuries like the one Michael is suffering from can be more easily managed. ((MIKE GOFORTH:)) Speaking of motions and movements - the news BCS rankings are out. And again it appears that if you want to make a move, you not only have to win, but you better win big. Miami beat Tech by 20 but certainly the Canes can't be accused of running up the score. The same can't be said for Florida State which rolled Clemson 54-to-7. Despite beating FSU earlier in the year, and despite being number two in both of the new top 25 polls - Miami is third in the Bowl Championship Series standings. ((BUTCH DAVIS:)) ((FRANK BEAMER:)) Beamer's Hokies fall to 8th in this week's BCS equation after the Miami loss. As for the injuries, Goforth says that Andre Davis will NOT play in Orlando. The hope is that a week off and the off week on the November 18th will have him healed for UVa. As for Vick, a decision on his status likely will be made way before game time to help cutdown on the chaos that surrounded his status last week.))
