The order requires Florida's Secretary of State to use her discretion to "consider" any late counts that come in.

Business at the bedding- and towel- manufacturing plant will continue as usual. Officials say the plant IS profitable.
Since its purchase of Fieldcrest Cannon in December of 1997, the company's stock has lost 99 percent of its value.
Pillowtex employs 13 thousand people nationwide, about one thousand locally.

63 Volvo workers marked for layoffs after Thanksgiving will get to keep working.
Volvo estimated earlier this month that 200 workers at the Dublin plant would lose their jobs. Today, they revised it to 102.
Union leaders say 63 workers will be transferred to other jobs in the new Volvo warehouse... part of an expansion at the Dublin facility.
Volvo still intends to cut back production 30-percent to compensate for an industry-wide slump in new truck orders.

The government wants attorney Rickey Young held in contempt.
Federal authorities say the Martinsville lawyer abused his access to Grand Jury information.
After Young was indicted on tax evasion charges, he filed a million- dollar slander suit against one of the government's witnesses.
Young's accountant, Deborah Akers, apparently testified that he told her he was "too busy practicing law to file a tax return." He denies that.
A hearing is set for tomorrow.

The survival rate for someone who experiences sudden cardiac arrest in the United States is just 5 percent.
And the American Red Cross says that's because CPR and defibrillators are not used in time.

Beamer told media members at the Birmingham Touchdown Club last night that he has been contacted by representatives from the University of Alabama. However, Beamer has not any formal talks with Alabama athletic director Mal Moore.
