Good Afternoon, I'm Kimberly McBroom.
Another day, another deadline in Florida.
The secretary of state has set a two p- m deadline today for counties to make their cases for manual recounts that might change vote totals.
Secretary Katherine Harris is petitioning the state Supreme Court to stop the hand counts altogether and consolidate all lawsuits in the tricky Presidential vote count.
Now Al Gore's campaign says it's also taking its case to the state Supreme court.
At last count, George W- Bush was ahead of Gore by 300 votes.
All this comes as Palm Beach county remains in limbo with its recount.
Terisa Estacio is in Tallahassee with an update on the latest legal maneuvers.

(SOT, WARREN CHRISTOPHER, GORE OBSERVER)

THAT PETITION FOLLOWS HER EARLIER RULING THAT ALL COUNTIES must EXPLAIN IN WRITING why their hand counts should be allowed into the final tally.

Fincastle's town council is at odds over turning a historic house into apartments. Last night, The mayor vetoed a council vote on the issue because he did not like the outcome. Then council members overrode the mayor's wishes. All this amid allegations that council members repeatedly break the law. Tina Tenret reports.
