Town workers were told to remove old sewer pipe from this Reading Road neighborhood in order to upgrade sewer service to Falling Branch Industrial Park.
Town officials say the workers hauled pieces of the old asbestos pipe and dumped it at the Christiansburg Industrial Park, without knowing it contained asbestos.

The town removed it from the site Wednesday.
OSHA says local residents PROBABLY were not at risk.
