The battle over ballots has reached the U-S Supreme Court.
The Bush camp wants the court to block the use of hand-counted ballots in Florida.
Gore's lawyers filed papers with the court tonight claiming Bush's request contains false and "partisan accusations."

Well our next step would be to file a contest action here in Tallahassee - to contest the results from Miami Dade.
The announcement came after the Florida Supreme Court refused to order Miami Dade County officials to resume handcounting their presidential election ballots.

"The writ is denied with prejudice to any party raising any issue presented in the writ and in any future proceeding -- no motion for rehearing will be allowed - it is signed unanimously by all 7 justices."
Without the Miami ballots, the Vice President will be hard pressed to catch up to Governor Bush by Sunday's deadline.

The news from the Gore camp came as the ballot showdown moved to the United State Supreme Court. Thanksgiving Day saw a flurry of activity; as the Vice President's lawyers filed their response to a Bush appeal to stop the hand count.

(STANDUP)

If the Vice President contests the election, it would drag out the process for at least a few more days.
But Gore's legal advisors today hinted that if they end up on Sunday with a comfortable lead from the Broward and Palm Beach hand counts, they may DROP the court action Terisa Estacio CBS News Miami))

[SUPER=03-Charlottesville/Last Saturday; :]

Perhaps the biggest challenge Saturday against Virginia Tech will be for the Cavaliers number 9 and 21, cornerbacks Ahmad Hawkins and Tim Spruill to stop Tech's big play receivers. Despite the pressure of the game, these two are still very thankful.
