One local organization offered a special menu for Thanksgiving... It included six or seven hundred servings of turkey, and around 4-hundred pies and cakes.

The volunteers at Roanoke's Rescue Mission serve nine meals a day, every day.
But with extra crew and a good crowd on hand, turkey was yesterday's fare.

The Star City has a new feline resident... that may look like a domestic cat...

But Miko (MEE-co) is anything but. She can be dangerous to people - but she has strong arms that make her particularly ferocious with fish...
In fact, Miko is a predator fishing cat, from Southeast Asia.
She was just recently introduced to the new man-made pond she'll be fishing out of this spring.

Don (Briz-en-dine) Brizendine is a diabetic who walks with a cane. When he lost his job two years ago, he moved into the Salvation Army shelter. Now he earns five fifty an hour collecting donations.
