Henry County will be losing more manufacturing jobs.
Bassett Furniture says it will shut down part of its plant in that county, putting 280 people out of work.
The company plans to shift the assembly and finishing operations in Bassett to its factory in Mount Airy, North Carolina.
That will add about 40 positions there.
And some of the Henry County workers could take those jobs.
Bassett blames slow housing starts and higher energy costs for the shutdown.
The restructuring will cost the company between 10 and 12 million dollars.

Investigators believe the fire broke out in Everything-Shabby-dot-com .. then spread to neighboring Patina bridal shop.
While much of the merchandise inside Patina was destroyed, firefighters say mylar sheets on the windows may have saved the building.
Authorities say the sheets kept oxygen out and helped smother the fire.
Bad news for brides to be -- estimated merchandise damage is between 800 and 900 thousand dollars.
