A manhunt in Rockbridge County ended this afternoon with gunfire.
19-year old David Owen Sensabaugh Junior was killed during the exchange with sheriff's deputies.

Authorities tracked Sensabaugh to a hillside about four miles west of Lexington. They say he escaped custody early Friday morning by stealing a patrol car.

Authorities had been searching for several hours, when they located the missing patrol car near Rockbridge Baths. A state police helicopter flew overhead, while armed officers searched the wooded terrain on foot.
Witnesses who saw the shooting from a distance, say they heard officers yell repeatedly for the suspect to get down on the ground, before the exchange of gunfire.

Tests on the mouse one family says it found in its chicken dinner from KFC are complete.
The tests done at a California lab should determine if the rodent came from the restaurant.

Latasha and Lonnie Cummings say they found the cooked mouse inside a box of chicken from K-F-C on Melrose Avenue.


The company that owns the franchise sent the mouse to a private lab to determine if it was actually cooked in K-F-C's batter.
J-R-N Incorporated's Vice President told News 7 that while the tests are done-- they're still waiting for a copy of the finalized report.
He says results should be known a few days.

A spokesperson for the New River Foundry parent company said today it hopes to continue talks with OSHA about 45 violations cited at the company.
They stem from the March 5th explosion at the auto parts plant that killed three workers.
After an investigation, the labor department slapped Intermet with the largest fine against a workplace in state history.
The Department of Labor says that if a settlement can not be reached, the case will go to court.

About half of the people lost their jobs yesterday, the rest may be cut around June or July.

Company officials say they'll offer the affected employees production jobs.
The cuts will leave V-F Imagewear with 27-hundred workers in the Martinsville area.
V-F also is cutting jobs in Florida, North Carolina and Texas.

Girls single, double and triple A basketball will be played in the winter beginning the 2003-2004 school year.
The volleyball season will take place in the fall. Moving single and double A basketball to the winter is a concern because of the need for more officials, some coaches coach both the girls and the boys, limited gym space, and media exposure will be more spread out.

Pitcher Mike Hampton has signed the largest contract in baseball history.

The letfhander has reportedly agreed to an 8 year deal with Colorado worth 121 million dollars.
Two baseball officials, who spoke on the condition they not be identified, said the deal is contingent on hampton passing a physical and other minor details.
Hampton went 15 and 10 for the New York Mets last season.
