They found what may be the smallest adult dinosaur fossil yet.
The dinosaur is the Microraptor and it's only 15 inches long.
There's no evidence that it could fly, but the researchers believe it shares an ancestor with the first known bird.

The Microraptor belongs to a group of dinosaurs called theropods -- meat eaters that walked on two legs. Many paleontologists believe birds evolved from theropods. But the ones that have been discovered until now are too big to fly.
The Microraptor was found in a fossil-rich field in northeastern China. The 120
million-year-old fossil is described in the journal Nature.
