A murder suspect in Henry County is in custody today after turning himself in.

Sampson Carlos Dodson was arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Daniel Rose.

Rose was shot to death in the King's Village area of Henry County Tuesday night. A preliminary investigation lead police to believe the shooting was drug related. Dodson is being held, without bond, in the Henry County Jail.

Two barns used for hay storage went up in flames last night...

Firefighters responded to the 28-hundred block of Hollins Road around 9:30 last night to find one of the storage sheds engulfed .. That shed burned to the ground. Another shed was also burning. Firefighters planned to let that fire burn itself out. Still no word on what caused the blaze.

A head on collision has left a Danville man in critical condition.

The accident happened around 9 last night on Route 360 in Pittsylvania County. Authorities say 85- year old Dan Blackmon was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. State police say Blackmon pulled into the path of a Geo Tracker...when he attempted to turn into a driveway. No one else was seriously injured.

Waksmunski (wax-MUN-skee) says they'd like to sign up 65 to 70 percent of the workforce before voting on whether to form a union.
Three previous efforts to form a union at B-W-X-T have failed.
This latest effort follows complaints from retirees that their insurance benefits have been slashed in recent years.
