Governor Jim Gilmore is on a plane to Texas at this hour.
There is no reason given as to why, but several G-O-P officials told us yesterday President-Elect Bush has asked Governor Jim Gilmore to head up the Republican National Committee.
Becoming R-N-C Chairman would permit Gilmore to play a major national role in the party while serving out the remainder of his term.
