State Police say both eastbound lanes of Route 460 in Bedford County near the Moose Lodge are still closed this evening - following an early-morning accident..

A tanker truck carrying gasoline crashed into a milk truck around 6 a-m causing the closure. Crates of milk and diesel fuel from both trucks spilled across both lanes. State Police say the accident happened when the driver of the milk truck attempted to turn into the Moose Lodge.

State Police believe the driver of the tanker truck fell asleep at the wheel. So far, no charges have been filed against either driver. Both were taken to Bedford Memorial with NON life- threatening injuries. Traffic on 460 is being routed into the west bound lanes while crews clean up the mess.

A counterfeit money arrest leads to the discovery of at least 140 hits of the drug Ecstasy.

Police say John Adam Hudson of Roanoke was charged with passing off a fake one-hundred dollar bill at a local Walgreens.
Hudson was arrested at another Walgreens where he was again trying to pass another counterfeit bill.
Police say Hudson admitted to using the bogus bills at various other stores in the city... He also reportedly led police to the Ecstasy find in the county.

The drugs were confiscated from a Roanoke County residence, after police chased a man and woman from the home.
No one has been arrested in connection with the ecstasy bust, but the investigation is ongoing.

The Mount Tabor Vaulting team from Blacksburg will perform during the Orange Bowl parade in Miami. Kate Weidaw shows us how their stunts are unique to this area.

A death row inmate pardoned by Governor Gilmore will stay in prison a little while longer.

Earl Washington was pardoned after D-N-A evidence cleared him of rape and murder. But Governor Gilmore left it up to the parole board to determine whether Washington should be released from prison immediately. The board yesterday denied Washington early release from a 30- year sentence for a malicious wounding conviction in 1983.
Washington's mandatory release date is February 12th.

U-S Airways and United Airlines have set a new deadline for their proposed merger.

The deadline has been extended until April second, to give the justice department more time to review it.
The airlines had been hoping for a ruling by the middle of next month. The move comes two days after a General Accounting Officer report found if the merger went through, the new airline would be extremely dominant - carrying a quarter of the nation's paying air customers. Both airlines currently serve the Roanoke Regional Airport.

While the media rarely sees his sense of humor, his players seem to know a George Welsh that can be funny at times.

Welsh leaves a program that is in good shape and many of the stand out underclassman have already said, even without Welsh, they are staying put at UVa. ((BRYSON SPINNER:))
Players present and past not only respect George Welsh but are realizing he single handily built UVa into a college football power whose athletes are reaching the NFL with increasing regularity. ((:)) ((:)) ((:)) ((:)) Welsh's influence has not just been limited to players, other coaches and announcers have also been inspired by this 67 year old's wisdom. ((:)) Perhaps Welsh's impact can best be seen through the eyes of someone he has never met. During his final news conference at UVa, three UVa fans from Roanoke made the trip to Charlottesville to say an emotional goodbye. ((:))

The Virginia Cavaliers were at University Hall today hosting Maryland Baltimore County.

The Cavaliers fell behind by one early in the first half when Kennedy Okafor hits the jumper.
Then Virginia gets it to their big man Travis Watson he throws down the jam and the Cavaliers led by three.
Virginia upped that lead to six but UMBC's Peter Mulligan worked the inside for the basket cutting the lead to 2.
