The bones discovered on Walker Mountain in Bland County are apparently the skeletal remains of two people. Two men searching for soda bottles discovered the remains wrapped in plastic and a blue blanket about a week ago. Authorities are treating the deaths as a homicide but have not yet identified the bodies. State police say one of the victim's skulls has not been located.

A 21-year old Rustburg man died early this morning in an accident in Pittsylvania County.
It happened just before six on Route 29.
State Police say Nathan Asher Neel was heading south when he hit the median.
Neel was ejected from his ford explorer.
The vehicle ended up in the northbound side of the highway and caught fire.
Neel was pronounced dead at Lynchburg General a short time later.
Officers say he was not wearing his seat belt.

A three judge panel will hear arguments next week for and against Clifton Forge becoming a town.

Customers of Dominion Virginia Power will be paying more for their electricity, starting the first of the year.
The State Corporation Commission is letting the utility pass on higher fuel costs to homeowners and businesses. [TAKE PINNACLE 1008]

That will go up to just over 83 dollars, an increase of about three and a half percent.

Buena Vista's most famous residents are getting a new address.

Abraham Lincoln, William Henry Harrison and Zachary Taylor have made their home in Buena Vista for nearly four months.
The giant busts were loaned to the city by the developer of a presidential theme park scheduled to open next year. Last week, the director of Buena Vista's parks and recreation department wrote to Everette Newman hoping to make the busts a permanent part of Glen Maury Park. Newman says the busts can NOT stay and that they'll be moved to his theme park in York County in the spring.
