A Danville grand jury has indicted 14 more people for allegedly participating in a pyramid scheme.
Authorities have been investigating ``The Winning Team'' since February. Fifty-one people were indicted in Danville earlier this year. All of them were convicted or pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor crime of participating in a pyramid scheme.

Virginia executed 8 people this year, falling from 14 last year.
The decrease is credited to advances in science, coupled with increasing skepticism from judges.

Dr. Preston Waldrop and Dr. Gregory D. (Ree-bul) Riebel both left the clinic in November and opened Virginia Orthopedics in Salem.

Customers flocked to Valley View Mall yesterday, making exchanges for gifts that didn't suit their fancy - and cashing in on the after-Christmas sales. Store managers say sales WERE up, despite a somewhat lackluster holiday shopping season. Returns at local malls were minimal - with most folks opting to swap gifts for a different size or color. If you chose to forgo the hustle and bustle but still want to take advantage of the sales, don't fret - most stores are extending their bargains though the week.
