Roanoke Police are investigating another shooting, and this time, whoever was firing the shots was very persistent.

24 year old Randy Cabbler of Roanoke tells police he was driving down Staunton Avenue Northwest around 6:45 last night when someone repeatedly fired at him for several blocks.
Police say Cabbler managed to drive to the intersection of 5th and Orange Avenue when a tire on his car blew out. Cabbler apparently ran to a Holiday Inn Express at the intersection up Orange Avenue.
Cabbler's condition is not being released this morning. No word on suspects at this hour.

And then theres the 14-year-old girl who lost her life to a gun, possibly an accident, at this apartment complex New Years Eve.

A Roanoke grand jury indicted Tony Mancuso yesterday.
Mancusco was let go at the end of the 98-99 season, but the team's current G-M says the team didn't realize what had happened until Mancuso and his assistant, James (Higgin-both-um) Higginbotham had left.
Prosecutors say about 10 thousand dollars was embezzled from the Express between June of 1998 and June of 99.

A nine-hour standoff means 30 years in prison for a Tennessee woman.

21-year-old Angel Tanner pled guilty in September.
Her boyfriend Dennis Lewis got four life sentences for his role in the Wythe County standoff last Spring.
The couple's arrest ended a two-day crime spree that began in Tennessee and ended at the home of a Wythe County family last April.
Ricky and Toni Sexton were held hostage for nine hours.

That sounds good to Dan Pellitteri, who says getting adequate treatment for his chronic pain has made a big difference in his life.
Pellitteri crushed his vertebrae in a motorcycle accident -- and now has a metal cage in his back.

A Roanoke man is dead after being hit by a car. The accident happened around 11 last night in the 35-hundred block of Orange Avenue Northeast.Authorities say 35 year old Thomas Sidney Draper of Roanoke struck the pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity has not been released. Police are investigating.

The suspect in a fatal shooting at a Roanoke Car shop is still at large--

29-year-old Earl Allen Hale was indicted by the Roanoke grand jury on murder and firearms charges.

He's accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Charlene Ramsey outside Hot Rods Car Care. Police say Hale used to date Charlene Ramsey, and had harassed her on two occassions, including the day of her murder.
Hale is also accused of wounding Rodney Eugene Basham, the operator of "Hot Rods." Basham underwent surgery Tuesday - his condition isn't being released.
