The Virginia Senate is expected vote this week on legislation that would make it illegal for passengers in a vehicle to possess an open container of alcohol.
Drinking alcohol while driving is already a misdemeanor.
But legislation proposed by Senator Thomas Norment would make possession of an open container of booze by passengers in a car or truck a traffic offense.
Opponents say adults should be able to enjoy a drink, as long as they have a designated driver.

Kerry Collins passed for 381 yards and a career high 5 touchdowns as the giants beat the Minnesota Vikings 41 to
