A six-hour standoff in Martinsville tonight ends up with a suspect on the lam.
Police surrounded the home of Timothy Wade's mother at 1137 Pinehall Road after receiving a tip he was inside.
Around 5-pm police tried to serve him warrants for bond revocation and failure to appear in court.
But after combing the house and throwing a tear gas-like substance into an upper-level of the home... Wade was nowhere to be found.

A medical examiner says blunt force trauma to the head killed a Bedford County woman.
20- year old Tina Foster had been missing for several days when her car was found outside a Roanoke motel.

Foster was last seen Monday night in the parking lot of Hooter's off Williamson Road... where she worked as a waitress.
According to friends Foster planned to meet a man who was going to take some modeling pictures of her.
Friday night... Roanoke City Police found Foster's white 1987 Mustang at the far end of the Rodeway Inn - her body was in the car. Authorities say she was NOT registered as a guest at the inn.
An autopsy shows Foster died from a head injury.

A Botetourt County man says he killed his brother in a fit of anger.

A jury yesterday convicted 51- year old Barry Etzler of first degree murder and other charges.
Etzler admitted shooting his 46- year old brother and injuring his nephew last September.
Etzler told the jury the two had been arguing earlier that day and that he snapped after his brother and nephew didn't come home with the iced tea he had given them money to buy.
Etzler still faces sentencing.

A jury in Waukesha (wah-KEE-shuh), Wisconsin acquitted Mark Chmura in verdicts announced in a late court session - HOURS after closing arguments were made in the case.

The House of Delegates passed a bill today...

A legislative panel has signed off on a plan that would WEAKEN the ban on concealed weapons in restaurants that serve alcohol.
The bill would limit the ban only to restaurants a judge has already declared a "common nuisance."

The House Militia and Police Committee has also REJECTED bill after bill supporting gun control today.
The ousted legislation would have established gun-free school zones, prohibited convicted stalkers from having a firearm for five years, and required handguns have child-safety locks.

A series of accidents ended with a van inside of a Roanoke County church tonight.

Roanoke County Police say the driver hit two cars before crossing the median and crashing into the church.
The driver was taken to the hospital, his condition is not known.

The 52 year old Coker replaces Butch Davis, who resigned Monday to take over the head coaching job with the Cleveland Browns.
Coker, the Hurricanes offensive Coordinator, got a three year contract.
