A slowdown in truck tire production means somewhere between 150 and 175 layoffs at Danville's Goodyear plant.

Her body was discovered this morning in some woods.

A measure expressing regret for Virginia's participation in the forced sterilizations of more than 74-hundred people won final approval in the General Assembly today.

Forget about the two loses on the road, Virginia was back home last night and the Cavaliers beat Duke 91 to 89, ending the Blue Devils 24 game road win streak.

The Cavaliers came out with a winning attitude.
Adam Hall would lead the way he hits this three pointer and the Cavaliers led by four.
Duke's big gun in the first half was Shane Battier. He hits the easy layup but the Blue Devils trailed by four at the half.
Virginia would lose the lead early in the second half when Jason Williams passes to Casey Sanders for the layup to make it 68 to 64 Duke.

A disputed call in the final 10 seconds led to a technical on the Hokie bench which enabled the Mountaineers to hold on for the win.

Tech was hoping to make the homecoming of former Patrick Henry Patriot Brooks Berry a disappointing one.

Berry had an answer for that, on the other end. The Mountaineer pulls up and sinks the long "J" for two.
Tech then uses the inside game. Mibindo Dongo is there to slam Joe Hamilton's miss home and the Hokies have the advantage.

The Radford Highlanders were looking to bounce back from a bad day at the office on Saturday and a 87-65 loss to Winthrop.
It was close but Radford beat UNC Asheville to clinch at least a tie for the top spot in the Big South.

Last night's contest with the Bulldogs would put the Highlanders to the test, but a couple of career night's by two Radford players pulled out the win.

But Asheville kept it within three for most of the second half.

V-M-I wrestler Adam Britt is the Southern conference wrestler of the week.
The 149 point sophomore notched two major decisions for the week improving his overall record to 26 and 7.
Britt's 26 wins leads the conference as does his 10 and 1 dual match record. He's ranked fourth in the nation in victories for his 149 pound weight class.

Today, marked the 100th space walk in U-S Space history.

The crew of the space shuttle Atlantis drew the honor.
The crew's third and final excursion outside the shuttle included staging a rescue of an incapacitated spacewalker.
Two different techniques were tested. In both, an astronaut pretended to be unconscious while another brought the person to safety.
Earlier in the spacewalk, two astronauts installed a spare communications antenna on the International Space Station.
