A Roanoke City garbage truck driver died this morning ... five days after he was injured on the job.

61 year old Reed Preston Cotton was pinned between his garbage truck and a telephone pole .. while he was picking up trash at a home on Cedarhurst Avenue.
He was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He had been in critical condition until he died this morning.

She didn't have much of a chance.
A 34 year old woman was killed on route 220 last night, when her car veered into the opposite lanes ... and slammed into an oncoming truck.
It happened in Henry County ... and took the life of Pamela Ann Harrison of Ridgeway.
Harrison was pronounced dead at Martinsville Memorial Hospital.

Captain disappeared late last month when he bounded out the front door of Buddy Staples' home in Floyd County. Staples says a neighbor discovered the missing kangaroo earlier this week. He says it appeared to have died from exposure.
