The governor has NOT set a date for the special budget session in March, where he hopes to work out all of this out without the budget cuts his staff will start identifying on Monday.

The contract is effective immediately and will run through 2003.

The Henry County police department is looking for four North Carolina men in connection with an armed robbery.

Over the years, the Byrds' Campbell County home has been transformed into a virtual Mecca for racing enthusiasts.
Life-sized cutouts, hats, jackets, photos and toy cars fill the rooms.. dozens of them personally autographed by Earnhardt.
Number 3 was always number 1 in the Byrds' hearts.. hearts that were broken by last week's deadly crash.

The Byrds have not been alone in their grief.. over the past week, their home has been a magnet drawing fans who want to look over the memorabilia and share memories about the Intimidator.
If he sold all or even part of his collection, Byrd would be a rich man.. he says he already is.

Kathy and her husband started "Winning Colors" a few years ago after a neighbor spotted their Dale Earnhardt mailbox and wanted one just like it.
They can customize a box with any driver's color scheme and logos.. Earnhardt's black, red and white Number Three figure to be in high demand for a while.

One group of local women paid for a house with hard work and a lot of sweat, all in order to lend a helping hand.

Habitat for Humanity's newest home on Gilmer Avenue in Roanoke was built exclusively by women.
The project took about 14 weeks to complete.
Organizers say it was a "win-win" situation for everyone involved... especially the 25 women who rolled up their sleeves and went to work.

Each squad will travel to Richmond to fight their next battle.... estimated cost... two weeks of daily two-hour practices, and another two grand.
