Roanoke city police received a call from police at Virginia Commonwealth University this morning. That's when V-C-U authorities told them a man pulled over for allegedly driving under the influence - confessed to killing his girlfriend in Roanoke.

A military plane headed for Virginia crashed in Georgia today.

All twenty one people on board were killed. Eyewitnesses say they saw the Florida National Guard aircraft - quote - "glide down" into a field around 30-miles south of Macon. Debris landed close to a home. The plane was assigned to the Florida National Guard's one hundred seventy first Aviation Battalion... It was headed for Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach.

Meantime, a bill that would change bankruptcy legislation is on its way to the U.S. Senate after passing in the house.
The bill would require those who file for bankruptcy to pay back a percentage of their debts over a five year period.

Critics say that the bill will cause further hardship for those who DO file... but cannot afford to pay back their debts.

The 7-th ranked Virginia Cavaliers will enter the A-C-C tournament on a down note.
This afternoon 16-th ranked Maryland beat the Cavaliers 102 to 67.
