Authorities say 51-year-old James Fletcher the Third of Roanoke was traveling NORTHbound in the SOUTHbound lane of Peters Creek Road when he struck another vehicle. A county officer says he spotted Fletcher's Buick going in the wrong direction and followed him for a little over a mile BEFORE the collision. Police are not yet releasing the name of the other driver involved in the accident. Both drivers were taken to Roanoke Memorial. Authorities say their injuries do NOT appear to be life-threatening.

So he began to volunteer his time for the Rescue Mission in Roanoke. Over the last eight years Miller has overseen projects like the Thrift Store and the new addition to the Rescue Mission - which includes a new kitchen, eating area, and chapel. But his latest project involved getting his hands dirty to renovate this 1-hundred year old home. Miller says finding and organizing hundreds of volunteers to do the work is really a piece of cake.

The Lady Hokies of Virginia opened the first round of the Big East tournament with a win.
Tere Williams, A second team Big East all conference selection, scored 20 points as the Hokies beat Villanova 73 to 67.

Jeff Gordon rolled the dice in Vegas yesterday and broke the bank. He takes the checkered flag winning the U-A-W 400.

The caution would come out three laps into the race when Jeff Burton crashed into the turn three wall and a couple of laps later Rusty Wallace would hit the wall to.
Todd Bodine, the winner of the Busch Race Saturday, was leading the race with 225 laps to go.
Dale Jarrett, the pole sitter, made his move and he would come to the front with 208 laps to go.
But Mark Martin made his move from the middle of the field to take the lead at the halfway mark of the race.
However, with 108 laps to go, Dale Earnhardt Junior would move his Chevy to the front for the lead.
But it was Jeff Gordon who hit the jack pot in Vegas yesterday taking the checkered flag in the U-A-W 400 for his first win this season.

Teresa Earnhardt made her first public statement yesterday since the death of her husband Dale Earnhardt a couple of weeks ago.
Teresa flew into Vegas yesterday from North Carolina and with Dale Junior at her side made a plea to racing fans and the state of Florida to help her protect the privacy of Dale Earnhardt's autopsy photos.

Tiger Woods continues to look for his first win this season.
Woods and Thomas Bjorn were tied going to the par 5 18-th hole. But Woods would hit his third shot into the water and had to settle for a double bogey on the hole giving Bjorn the win.
Bjorn tapped in for par finishing at 22 under par after shooting a 3 under par 69.
