That Indian Mascot controversy in Montgomery County isn't just dividing the public- it's even giving School Board members a tough time.... so tough that tonight they've decided to send the controversial policy on to the board's attorney.

Some say it is a fair symbol and others believe it is offensive.

Thomas is charged with murder during what prosecutors say was a rape or attempted rape of 16 year old Tara Munsey last January.
Today, forensic scientist Patricia Taylor testified that Thomas' sperm was on Munsey's thigh.
She said cells matching his D-N-A profile were also under the teenager's fingernails and on her clothes.
On cross examination, she told defense attorney Mike Barbour that at least one other person's D-N-A was on Munsey's body ... but that it was NOT sperm.

A counselor at the Arcadia Leadership Academy is recovering from injuries he received during an assault Monday night.
24-year old David Allen Hipes has been released from the University of Virginia Medical Center after receiving treatment for facial fractures, scratches and abrasions.

Hipes was assaulted as he drove four juveniles to a fast food restaurant in Buchanan. One of the students got out of the van at a rural intersection. When Hipes followed, he was beaten with the metal rod from a bunkbed.

The Irish beat the then undefeated and number one ranked Huskies in January in South Bend.

Tonight's championship game was on the UCONN campus in Storrs and not even a nor'easter could stop the Huskies in the first half.

The Longwood Lancers men's basketball team has placed two players on the All-East Region squad. Colin Ducharme and Jason Pryor both earn first team honors. Ducharme, the graduate student transfer from UVa averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds a game.

In a much sadder football note, former Dallas Cowboys great Bob Hayes is fighting for his life tonight in a Jacksonville, Florida hospital. The only man to win an Olympic Gold Medal and a Super Bowl ring is battling prostate cancer as well as liver and kidney ailments. Hayes, who is now 58 years old, had his prostate removed last Tuesday, but his biggest problem right now is a deteriorating liver. Hayes has fought addictions much of his life, going to federal prison on drug charges in 1979 and making three different trips to substance abuse centers. Hayes played for the Cowboys from 1965 - 1974.
