Clifton Forge held its first council meeting tonight since voters said yes to reverting from a city to a town. Yesterday-- 66 percent of the city's registered voters voted in favor of reversion.

Police responded to the Deerwood Apartment complex around 10:30. That's where Gracie Yvette Dillard had been shot in the head.
Her boyfriend, 29-year old Gregory Curtis Jones, has been charged with shooting her in a domestic dispute.
Jones is now at the U-V-A Medical Center, recovering from self-inflicted wounds to his wrists.

A jury in Texas says Smith was not named in any will documents and had no agreement with her late husband that he would leave her half of his estate.
Therefore the jury says she's not entitled to any of his oil estate.
It also found the de-inherited son J. Howard Marshall the Third.. also had no oral agreement with his father to receive part of the estate.

That was good news to the second son- E. Pierce Marshall who is the sole heir to his father's estate.
As for Anna Nicole Smith- she was awarded 475 million dollars by a California federal bankruptcy judge. But she hasn't seen any of that money yet.

The Dallas Cowboys delivered a cold cut last night as they got rid of Troy Aikman. The veteran quarterback was waived one day before the Cowboys would have had to pay him a $7 million dollar bonus.

Aikman who holds virtually every passing record in Dallas history also led the Boys to three Super Bowl titles. However, Aikman is now 34 years old and in his 12 year career he has suffered 9 concussions. Owner Jerry Jones wanted Aikman to retire, but Aikman believes he can still play. There is a strong possibility that Aikman may end up in San Diego reunited with his former Dallas offensive coordinator, Norv Turner.

News 7 Sports learned yesterday that Cave Spring offensive lineman John Michael Deeds will sign a letter of intent today to play football at James Madison.

Deeds played left tackle for the Knights and protected quarterback Jacob Lewis's blind side. He was responsible for just one sack this past season, his first playing football. He will accept a partial scholarship to JMU. He was a second team RVD selection.
The 6'5" 220 pounder also started two years on the Knights basketball team where he was a district honorable mention choice.
Both Virginia Tech and Virginia said they would allow Deeds to walk on.
