But prosecutor Mike Fleenor told jurors in his closing statement that Thomas' DNA was all over Munsey's body and clothes ... and that THAT was what the case boiled down to.

The controversy over who will attend the new Roanoke County high school is now decided.

Superintendent Doctor Linda Weber recommended that when Hidden Valley High School opens in the fall of 2002, the rising juniors at Cave Spring High School who fall in the new school zone will attend the new school.
Tonight the school board agreed with Weber by a vote of 3 to 2, saying plans must move forward for the new school to be up and running.
Some parents say it should be the students choice whether they want to attend the new school.

The deadly school shooting near San Diego earlier this week has led to the expulsions of four students for the rest of the year.

Andy Williams, the alleged gunman, is said to have told the four classmates that he planned to open fire on the school.
The students were expelled for not reporting the threats. They say they thought Williams was only joking.

Meanwhile in Williamsport, Pennsylvania - an eighth grader shot at her school yesterday is out of the hospital.
13-year-old Kimberly (Mar-KAY-zee) Marchese was alledgedly shot in the shoulder by a classmate.
Officials say 14-year-old Elizabeth Bush fired a 22-caliber revolver in a crowded cafeteria.
Officials say the two were involved in a long standing argument.
Bush is being held in a juvenile detention center while waiting for a psychological evaluation.

A boy suspected of making threats to shoot other students at a school in our area .. has been taken into custody.

A school resource officer at Read Mountain Middle School in Botetourt County overheard the 13 year old. The boy allegedly told another student .. he would shoot people who had been picking on him.
Authorities confronted the boys and called their parents.
No guns were found.

A car with two teenagers inside left Starlight Lane tonightin southwest Roanoke County.
The driver told police when he swerved to miss the deer, he lost control. The car hit an embankment and then rolled over.

And the reason for Blacksburg's success?
It could be the popularity at Virginia Tech.
