Virginia's citizens had a chance last night to make their voices heard concerning controversial, newly-proposed political districts across the Commonwealth.

[SUPER=03-Richmond]
A Republican map just three hours old drew only pleas to keep communities with "like interests" together.
A very similar plan released Tuesday lumps seven incumbents into three House districts in southside and southwest Virginia.
Democrats say Republicans are playing politics at the expense of seniority and experience for the region -- and have NOT given the voters enough chances to weigh in on the actual plan.

The House plan splits 62 localities up into different districts, four more than the 1991 Democratic redistricting.
The Senate plan splits 38-- two more than now.
Republicans say they're mostly just moving lines based on math, but acknowledge some political gain.
Yesterday's new G-O-P map corrected their Tuesday mistake, finally putting Roanoke's Chip Woodrum in the same district as Vinton's Dick Cranwell.

Supervisors in Bedford County say it boils down to a matter of give-and-take: If teachers are to get a pay raise - residents will see a tax hike.
Last night residents spoke their minds on the proposed real estate tax increase.
