Good evening. A shooting in Pulaski leaves one man dead another man behind bars. It happened shortly before eight o'clock last night at a home on Pepper Street. When police got there-- they say they found 37 year old Terry Melvin White lying outside, with a gunshot wound to the chest. 42-year-old Lamont (duh-FREESE) Defriece was taken into custody at the scene - he's charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm.

He's on a one thousand mile journey for Virginia Attorney General candidate Sylvia (CLOOT) Clute. Today the man known as "Walking Bob" stopped in Roanoke.

An accident on Route 460 in Roanoke County tied up traffic for a short time this morning.

The crash happened around 9-30. Authorities say the driver of this red pickup lost control, crossed the median into east bound traffic, and side-swiped another pickup.

Scott Riggs of North Carolina wins the Advance Auto Parts 250 Craftsman truck race at the Martinsville Speedway.

The Largest crowd ever to see a truck race was at the Speedway today and it watched Winston Cup regular Bobby Hamilton dominate the first half of the race.
Jon Wood making his first truck race was running strong but he was out of the race after 82 laps with rear end problems he finished 31st.
Then on lap 93 the caution comes out after a seven truck pile up at the Start finish line on the re-start after a caution. Kenny Schrader was involved in the wreck.
Ridgeway's Jimmy Hensley and Richard Landreth both had problems Landreth went out witht suspension problems and Hensley had rear end problems. Hensley finished 25th.

The Storm scored with less than 2 minutes left in overtime to beat the Express 3 to 2.
