It was placed against the door of the Association for Italy--- U-S-A Relations office in the city center.


Police have sealed off the building.
Italian officials say they've received no specific threats, but anti- American graffiti had appeared on the main door.
The institute is engaged in research and publishes a magazine.

Two Liberty High School students have been charged with distributing the painkiller OxyContin.
Two boys.. one 15, the other 16.. were arrested at the school last week after Liberty's resource officer learned of the transactions.
Police say the pair distributed about a dozen pills to four or five students.
Each has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance.
OxyContin is a synthetic morphine that has been blamed for more than two dozen deaths in Virginia in the last two years.

An accident last night on Interstate 81 at the 5-81 interchange is still slowing down traffic.
State police say ONE northbound lane is open now, while crews make repairs to the bridge and guard rail.

The accident happened just before 10 last night, when a tractor-trailer driver headed Northbound lost control on an overpass.
The rig hit the guard-rail and bridge-- spilling diesel fuel.
The fuel caught fire and destroyed the truck.

A Pearisburg woman died last night after an accident in her driveway.
State Police were called to the home of Victoria Crockett just after nine o-clock.

A difficult decision is ahead for the Bedford County Board of Supervisors. It's one dealing with taxes.

Last night-- superintendent Jim Blevins urged the supervisors to increase the real-estate tax rate by eight-cents. The hike would give teachers a ten-point six percent pay raise. They say it is 33-year-old Billy Ray Green of Roanoke.

A Christiansburg home was damaged by fire last night.

Just before 8:30 last night, Christiansburg Fire Department and rescue arrived to find the back of a two-story home burning.
The five-adults who rent the home were sleeping when it happened, a neighbor alerted the group to the flames.
There were no fire related injuries although a firefighter twisted his knee.
