It took several different motions from the Board of Supervisors before they settled on approving the 4 point 3 million dollars the school board asked for to increase teacher salaries.
Many teachers say this is just one step in making the county more competitive with other school districts.

Tom Pinardo/ Continental Pilot: "During that period of time they thought about jumping off the airplane, preparing for evacuating the airplane, then they came, got the airplane under control and thought about ditching." It's usually women worried about having children before they reach a specific age-
Now there may be reason for men to start families early.
Researchers say older fathers are more likely than younger ones to have children with Schizophrenia.
Previous research suggested children of older fathers are at risk for some birth defects and cancers-
Now a study found, men who fathered children at ages 45 to 49 were twice as likely as those under 25 to have schizophrenic children- and men 50 and older were three times as likely.
The reason- sperm de-generation.
During a man's lifetime sperm cells divide hundreds of times- each time with a slight risk of genetic defects.
