The birth occurred around six o'clock yesterday morning at the Wyndham Hotel.
The girl was spending the night with her 20-year old boyfriend, a student at Roanoke College.
She awoke with stomach pains, went to the bathroom and delivered a baby boy.
Her boyfriend called 9-1-1. Rescue workers pulled the newborn out of the toilet "and the baby began breathing," according to police.
The baby boy is in "critical" condition at Community Hospital. The mother is listed as stable.
