A Roanoke man who led police on a 43-minute chase this morning is dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police pursued him from the Hollins area to Colonial Avenue outside the North Cross School.
That's where they found him slumped in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to his head.
He later died at the hospital.

An accident at a Henry County plant leaves two workers injured.

The plant's president and C-E-O says the men were working on a machine that coats rolls of film when something triggered a flash-fire.
Both men were burned, one more severely than the other.
That man was airlifted to a North Carolina hospital.
Officials are not releasing his name and his condition is not known.
