Frances still doesn't know how the company got her credit card number.
So, if Peace and Quiet is ringing in your ear, here's what to do. [PRE PRO]
First if you have caller I.D. and you don't recognize the number, DON'T answer the phone. [ADD]
If you do answer, tell them to put you on their do not call list -- federal law says the have to oblige. [ADD]
Next, call the 800 number on the back of your credit card. Tell the company you don't want your personal information given out to ANYONE. [ADD]
And last -- if there's a charge on your credit card bill, don't pay it.
Flip the bill over, on the back, there will be a form for unauthorized charges.
Fill it out and send it in separate from your credit card bill.
