With only one northbound lane open near Christiansburg, crews continue to clear the scene of an early morning tractor trailer wreck that killed a man.
State Police say early this morning, the rig jumped the guard rails, overturned and caught fire.
The driver Cleo Ivory survived but a passenger, Tommy Ray Atkins, died.
Both were from Tennessee.
V-Dot crews have been on the scene since four a-m for the major cleanup effort.

It wasn't your typical bridge opening, but then, Eagle Rock isn't your typical town. Residents have spent the past few years inundating county, state and federal officials with requests that their main artery into town be preserved.

The battle started in 1996 when VDOT announced the bridge connecting Routes 220 and 43 would be torn down for good. Residents rallied, engaging in signature and letter writing campaigns, making phone calls, sending faxes and making threats.

Plans for the D-Day Memorial dedication could change, depending on his decision.

A spokesperson for the memorial says that President Bush hasn't said whether he'll be attending the event June Sixth or not. Memorial officials are waiting for the release of the President's schedule, which they say might not come more than a couple of days before the dedication.
At the moment, they're planning for the event as if Bush WILL be there, saying that it is much easier to lessen security at the last minute than it is to add security.
They also say they could change the time of the event to fit the President's schedule.

In the upcoming budget year-- the state appropriated NO money for the Science Museum.

Buddy Staples brought this pair of Wallaby Kangaroos to his petting farm on Easter Sunday.
Just barely a month old, the pair, named Lieutenant and Hot Lips, will live inside his home and grow to be about 30-inches tall.
This isn't the first time the Staples Farm has hosted a kangaroo.
In January, Captain, their 4-month-old kangaroo escaped out the front door, he was eventually found dead from exposure to the cold.
