A rough ride yesterday evening for some Lord Botetourt High School softball players.

The students' bus caught fire at exit 140 in Roanoke County. They were on their way to watch a college softball game in Salem when the bus driver noticed mechanical problems. The driver who is also the students' coach says she told the girls and pulled onto the exit ramp-- still hoping to make it to Salem.

Traffic is slow moving on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County this morning due to an accident. State Police say a tractor trailer overturned in the southbound lanes at mile marker 162 near Buchanan. Both lanes are blocked. Motorists are using the emergency shoulder to get around the accident.

The executive director of the Science Museum of Western Virginia is stepping down.

After more than eight years as Executive Director-- Ken Schutz is leaving for another job. He's taking a Director's job with the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona. Schutz says budget problems with the state were a significant factor in his decision to move. The state allocated zero funding for the Roanoke museum in its upcoming budget. Schutz says if it weren't for the budget woes and other issues he would have stayed at the Science Museum through retirement.

in Davenport, Iowa just short of a 19-93 record.
The river was at a little over 22- feet last night and is expected to rise about two more inches.
Sandbag levees are managing to keep the water away from the city center.
But the flooding has already caused millions of dollars in damage.
Officials say about 70 homes in an outlying neighborhood along the river are flooded.
Davenport, Iowa is the largest urban area on the upper Mississippi without a flood wall.

Ever since Lewis Gale Clinic closed its New Castle office more than a year ago, Craig County has been without a full time physician.
But now two days a week, Radford University brings a mobile clinic to the community.

Four year old Hunter Tipton isn't feeling very well. So his mother brought him to the Radford University Mobile clinic.
Laura Tipton says if it wasn't for the clinic she would've had to take her son more than 30 miles away to Salem.

The Phillipines' ousted president is under arrest.

Hundreds of supporters stood outside the home of former President Joseph Estrada, trying to stop police from taking the leader into custody today.
The crowd promised to protect Estrada, or go to jail along with him.
There were no arrests, but demonstrators used vehicles to block the narrow driveway, and one windshield was smashed.

A Philippine court ordered his arrest on corruption charges, including plunder, which is a capital offense.

The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee says evidence indicates Peruvian officials acted too quickly when they shot down a U-S missionary plane.
The first phase of the U-S investigation into what led to the shoot- down will be complete tomorrow.
Last Friday's incident killed an American missionary and her infant daughter.

The bodies of 35- year- old Roni Bowers and daughter, Charity arrived yesterday at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

That happened after police arrested him for being under the influence of drugs.
Police say the Oscar- nominated actor was held for several hours.
After his release, 36- year- old Downey immediately checked himself into an un-disclosed drug rehabilitation center.

Downey has to appear in court May fourth for yesterday's citation.
He was ALREADY scheduled for a court hearing on Monday for another drug-related charge.
