The Hornets are actually the headbands these days with every player wearing one. They looked a little like the Globetrotters - hustling for the offensive rebound. Jamal Mashburn goes behind his back to Elden Campbell for the two hand throwdown and the Hornets are on their way. Then watch this slam off the break in transition - Hersey Hawkins with the wicked alleyoop to Eddie Robinson as the Hornets' lead expands to 17.

Baron Davis would dominate as he scores 21 and the Hornets advance to the next round in the East with the 94 to 79 win.

Carolina's three day weekend mini-camp in the Queen City is centered on finding a quarterback. Jeff Lewis has the most experience of any signal caller on the team, but he's not the oldest quarterback - that honor goes to rookie Chris Weinke, who will be 29 by the summer.

The Redskins 4th round draft pick Sage Rosenfels, an unheralded quarterback from Iowa State, struggled mightily in his first workout at Redskins' Park in Ashburn. Fumbling an exchange with a running back and a center. At least he's not playing favorites.

This is Roanoke's first trip back to Richmond since last July when the Speed ran up the score on Roanoke scoring several times in the closing minutes when the outcome was well in hand. Then Steam offensive coordinator Pete Costanza let the Speed's interim coach Chris Thompson know about it too. Costanza gets his point across and then reaches out and slaps Thompson in the face. Pete Shaw and Duke Strager later have Thompson an earful, as well.
