(( One side fought to put the 14 year old boy it called a cold blooded killer in prison for the rest of his life. While the other side argued Nathaniel Brazill was just a boy who made a deadly mistake and should get nothing more than manslaughter. The jury came back with a compromise.
A conviction of second degree murder could mean 25 years to life in prison. Nathanial's attorney said his client was both relieved and saddened. ROBERT UDELL/BRAZILL'S ATTORNEY.. HE SAID IT WAS NOT TOO BAD..THEN HE CRIED AND WAS VERY UPSET. All along the defense insisted it was an accident - when Brazill killed his English teacher Barry Grunow with a single gunshot to the face. In the fifteen hours of deliberations jurors requested to review the school surveillance tape twice. it shows Brazill at Lakeworth Middle School before during and after the shooting. But what ever was the defining moment that led jurors to their verdict - the prosecution says it accepts their decision. Reminding everyone that this was clearly a case that had no victors.
