Blacksburg police sealed off the entrance to the hospital around 8-30 last night after a truck carrying the hazardous waste pulled into the hospital.
The driver had gotten into an accident earlier in the day and was complaining about being nauseous.
Officials found a leak in the back of the truck, only a small amount spread onto the ground.
Hazmat crews from Roanoke, Danville, and Giles County worked to contain the leak.
Officials say the spill was not a threat to patients inside the hospital.
All non-emergency traffic was rerouted and emergency vehicles were directed to use the back entrance.
