((Sammy the Bull Gravano found himself in a familiar place Friday morning -- a federal courtroom - this time to face charges he's moved from former mob informant to big-time drug kingpin.
Gravano and his son pleaded guilty to running a multi-million-dollar ecstasy business in Arizona. Striking a deal with prosecutors means 10 to 15 for Gravano - instead of at least 20.
Lynne Stewart -- Gravano's Attorney
"It's not a bad deal for him ... they say the best deals are where everybody is unhappy."
It looked like Gravano had chosen to clean up his act. In the early 1990s, he ratted on mob boss John Gotti - and although Gravano admitted to murdering 19 people himself - he only got 5 years behind bars - Gotti got life. After prison, the witness protection program moved Gravano to Arizona, where he set up a swimming pool business under the name Jimmy Moran.
But the new identity wasn't enough to stop Gravano from a life of crime.
Mona Garafalo - Son killed by Gravano
"I said if it were true ... that he deserves to go to jail. Now that he has admitted it even a sentence of 15 years is not enough."
Gretchen Carlson Reporting
Prosecutors say they had more than enough evidence against the Bull; hundreds of hours of wiretapped conversations describing Gravano as the boss of the drug ring, as well as testimony from an accomplice.
Gravano and his son will be sentenced September 11th, but the entire Gravano family faces more drug charges in Arizona -- leaving many people to wonder whether government witnesses like Sammy the Bull can ever be cured of crime. Gretchen Carlson, CBS News, New York.))
