They say the interstate is the area's economic future. But the board and some local homeowners are not satisfied with the route recently approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board. The interstate would impact three large subdivisions in Henry County. Last night, the developer of the Farmingdale subdivision asked for help.

The young female died Saturday. Zoo officials say all the babies appeared to be doing fine until their mom singled out the smallest one and removed her from the den. Despite being limp the cub had no visible signs of injury. Because of the way snow leopard mothers dispose of their dead young, an autopsy would be impossible. The zoo says the death is sad, but not uncommon. The surviving male and female are doing well.
