hospital after a hazardous materials
incident in Wytheville.

The fire chief told News7
last night that something may have been
leaking inside a tractor trailer at the
T-A truck stop on Peppers Ferry Road.
Much of the parking lot was
blocked off.
One truck driver was
de-contaminated and sent to the
hospital after having trouble
breathing.
The other driver was sent
as a precaution.

arrested for a Memorial Day shooting in
Danville.
Police say Derrick Shante
Walden of Danville shot a woman Monday
afternoon on Monroe Street.
Walden's been charged with
Aggravated Malicious Wounding and use
of a firearm.
The woman, who has not been
identified by police, was wounded in
her left side.

jumped off the flagstand to see her
stepbrother.
Franklin County authorities say
all of the witnesses THEY talked to say
the same thing.
The incident, however, is still
under investigation.

during their investigation of drivers'
licenses issued to Hispanic residents.

A Peacock has been wandering
around route 460 in Narrows all day.
People started calling animal
control about the bird yesterday
morning after it was seen flying across
the road.
Officers tried to capture it, but
they say it was way too quick for them.
They don't know who it belongs to
or how it got there.
They say the bird isn't bothering
anyone, so they plan to leave the
animal alone for now.
